Yellow Dog Charters is a family owned and operated business based out of Holden Beach, NC. Depending on the time of year you will find all of our Captains on the water doing something!! Between oystering and duck hunting in the winter to catching grouper and mahi in the summer, we try to keep up with the fish, to let our customers have the trip of a lifetime!!

This year Yellow Dog Charters will have 3 Captains and be offering both Offshore and Backwater fishing trips.  So whatever kind of saltwater fish you are looking for, Yellow Dog Charters will be able to fill your needs!!

Captain Derek Savage

Being raised as a child on the Eastern Shore of Maryland helped Captain Derek become a great angler. These waters are filled with numerous species of fish such as Striped Bass, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Flounder, Bluefish, and Cobia just to name a few.

Having such a variety of fish to target helped Captain Derek become one of the most well rounded anglers this area has ever seen. After moving to North Carolina he has kept up with his tradition and developed the skills to become an awesome Grouper and King Mackeral Fisherman.

Capt. Zack Shackleton

Well if you know Capt. Zack you would think he lived at the boat ramp as much as his truck is there!   Zack has been fishing with us the last couple of years and has gained tons of knowledge about our local waters.  Zack is the one person we could always count on wheter it was going flounder gigging and shrimping to catching bait for tournaments the day before.  He is probably the best fisherman in Brunswick County for his age.    If your lucky enough

to get a charter with Capt. Zack I can garuntee one thing, as much as he is on the water, you wont be to far from a school of nice fish!
